I Built This Before Social Media Existed

Before Instagram experts.
Before YouTube workouts.
Before every guy with a ring light called himself a coach.

I was already in the trenches.

I got into this industry in 2002. Back then, if you wanted to build a name, you didn’t hide behind a screen—you showed up in person and delivered results. Or you disappeared.

There was no shortcut.

The Kettlebell Years (Before It Was Cool)

In 2002, kettlebells weren’t mainstream.

Most people had never even seen one.

I didn’t wait for them to become popular. I built a business around them anyway.

I was one of the first guys to prove you could actually make a real living teaching kettlebells. Not online. Not through ads. Through real seminars, real coaching, and real results.

For over a decade, I taught kettlebell seminars all across the U.S. and around the world.

No social media.
No paid traffic.
No “funnels.”

Just word of mouth and people getting stronger.

That’s how credibility used to be built.

Writing Before the Noise

While I was traveling and coaching, I was also writing.

I contributed to Bodybuilding.com when it was still a serious platform—not a content farm.

I wrote for T Nation back when the standard was high and the audience actually trained hard.

And I was published in Ironman Magazine—when getting into print meant something.

Back then, you didn’t get published because you were popular.

You got published because you had something worth saying—and you could back it up.

The Shift No One Talks About

Around 2015, I made a decision.

I stepped away from traveling the world teaching seminars and transitioned fully into the supplement industry.

Not because it was easier.
Because it was scalable.

But I didn’t enter the supplement world as a marketer.

I came in as a coach.

That’s a huge difference.

Why Most Supplements Are Garbage

Here’s the reality:

Most supplement companies are built backwards.

They start with:

  • marketing
  • branding
  • hype

Then they figure out the product.

That’s why most supplements don’t do much.

They were never built to.

I Did It the Other Way Around

I spent over a decade coaching people in person before I ever created a supplement.

I saw:

  • what actually worked
  • what didn’t
  • what people wasted money on
  • and what actually moved the needle

That experience shaped everything I do.

If something doesn’t produce real-world results, it doesn’t make the cut.

Period.

The Philosophy Hasn’t Changed

I’ve watched this industry evolve—and in many ways, regress.

Now it’s:

  • influencers over experts
  • hype over results
  • aesthetics over performance

Everyone is looking for shortcuts.

Very few are willing to do the work.

What I Believe (And Always Will)

I don’t believe in magic pills.

I don’t believe in biohacking your way out of weak habits.

And I don’t believe hormones, supplements, or any tool will fix a lack of discipline.

What I do believe is this:

The right tools—used correctly—can amplify a strong foundation.

That’s it.

Not replace it.

Not shortcut it.

Enhance it.

Why This Matters to You

If you’ve been frustrated with:

  • supplements that don’t deliver
  • advice that contradicts itself
  • influencers who look the part but can’t back it up

Good.

You should be.

Because most of it is noise.

The Bottom Line

I didn’t build my reputation selling supplements.

I built it:

  • coaching people face-to-face
  • traveling the world teaching
  • writing when results actually mattered

Only then did I create products that reflect that standard.

Live Life Aggressively

If you want real results, stop chasing trends.

Build strength.
Dial in your habits.
Use tools that actually work.

And ignore the rest.
