Why I Created ASTB as a Smarter First Move for Testosterone Optimization
It seems like everyone is on TRT these days.
Scroll social media for five minutes and you’ll see it:
- “Just get on TRT”
- “Game changer”
- “Best decision I ever made”
And look—I’m not anti-TRT.
For some men, it’s absolutely the right move.
But here’s the problem:
TRT is being treated like step one when it should be step last.
The Part No One Talks About
Once you go on TRT, you’re not “optimizing.”
You’re replacing your natural testosterone production.
That comes with trade-offs:
- Your body shuts down its own production
- You’re now dependent on injections or creams
- You’re managing hormones for life
- You often need additional compounds to balance things out
Again, for some guys, that’s necessary.
But for a lot of men?
They never needed to go there in the first place.
Most Men Are Jumping the Gun
I’ve been in this industry since 2002.
I’ve seen the shift.
What used to be a last resort has now become:
“You feel off? Just get on TRT.”
No discussion of:
- lifestyle
- training
- nutrition
- stress
- or natural optimization
Just:
“Take the shortcut.”
That’s Why I Created ASTB in 2013
I didn’t create ASTB to “compete” with TRT.
I created it because I saw a massive gap:
Men needed a legitimate way to optimize their natural testosterone before jumping to lifelong hormone replacement.
At the time, the only real “alternatives” were:
- ineffective over-the-counter junk
- or pharmaceutical options like Clomid, which stimulate natural production but come with their own side effects and risks
So I asked:
What if we built something that actually worked—without shutting down your system?
That’s what ASTB was designed to do.
ASTB vs TRT: The Real Difference
Let’s be clear about this:
TRT:
- Replaces testosterone
- Shuts down natural production
- Requires ongoing management
- Powerful—but permanent
ASTB:
- Supports your body’s own production
- No shutdown
- No dependency
- Works with your physiology, not against it
It’s Not Just Testosterone—It’s How You Feel
Here’s something most people miss:
Low testosterone doesn’t just affect your body—it affects your brain.
Drive. Motivation. Focus. Mood.
A big part of that is tied to dopamine.
When dopamine is low:
- everything feels like effort
- you have to force yourself to train
- you lose that edge and urgency
Sound familiar?
This Is Where ASTB Shines
ASTB isn’t just about increasing testosterone.
It helps support dopamine and overall drive.
That’s why guys often report:
- better motivation
- stronger mental focus
- improved mood
- increased libido
- more “get up and go” energy
Not because it’s a stimulant…
but because it’s supporting the systems that make you feel like yourself again
Who ASTB Is Actually For
Let’s keep it real.
ASTB is not for:
- guys with clinically low testosterone that truly require TRT
- people looking for a pharmaceutical-level spike overnight
ASTB is for:
- men 35–55
- borderline or low-normal testosterone
- declining energy, drive, libido
- still training, still functioning—but not where they used to be
The Smarter Approach
Here’s how this should actually work:
Step 1: Optimize naturally
Training, nutrition, sleep, stress, supplementation
Step 2: Assess results
Step 3: THEN consider more aggressive options if needed
Instead, what most guys are doing is:
Skipping straight to step 3
And once you do that:
There’s no going back to “natural” without consequences.
The Real Advantage of ASTB
It’s not just about testosterone levels.
It’s about:
keeping control of your system
With ASTB:
- you can start
- you can stop
- you can adjust
You’re not locked in.
This Is About Playing the Long Game
Short-term thinking says:
“I want the fastest possible result.”
Long-term thinking says:
“I want the best result with the least long-term cost.”
Final Thought
TRT has its place.
But it’s not the starting point for most men.
If you haven’t tried to optimize your natural testosterone first, you’re skipping the most logical step.
That’s why I created ASTB back in 2013.
Not as a replacement for TRT.
But as the smarter move before you ever need it.
