Life is full of its contrasts and often we find out who we are and how bad we really want what we are going after when the storm of adversity comes our way. I doubt that anyone has achieved anything meaningful without persevering through some form of turbulence. In fact you could say that the greater the adversity the greater the achievement at the end of the tunnel. Expect and welcome adversity on the way to your goals. It is a test to see if you are worthy of your goals and the achievement of the goals will be far more meaningful with a few cups of adversity.

2. AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH TRAINING ARTICLE
Take the workout and move on
More often than not many trainees beat themselves up when they have a “bad” workout. If they drop a rep or two from the previous workout, it is enough to ruin their day and maybe even their week. It is great to be focused and goal driven, but do not have the illusion that you will be stronger at every workout for the rest of your life. That is simply not going to happen. In Steve Justa’s book “Rock Iron Steel” he states that an amateur will panic when he is slightly weaker from the previous workout and dump the program that he or she is on immediately, while a professional will simply mark down the number and move on. The strength will rebound the next time around and it is nothing to panic about. That said don’t stick with a program for month after month if you are not making progress.
Now here is a great cluster-training program that you can put into action today for breaking through strength plateaus:
Monday
- Military Press 5x5*
- Pull-up 5x5*
- Deadlift 5x5*
- Weighted Sit-up 5x5 (Regular Rep style)
Thursday
- Bench Press 5x5*
- Bent-Over Row 5x5*
- Barbell Squat 5x5*
- Side Bend 5x5 (Regular Rep style)
*Do these Cluster sets in rest pause fashion. One set of five, means five singles with one-minute breaks. Take a three-minute break before doing the next rest pause set of five singles. Keep going until you have done 25 total singles per exercise. When you can do all five sets with one-minute breaks between each single rep, take the breaks down to 45 second. Your long-term goal is to do five reps per set with 10-second breaks between each repetition.
